We've gone pumpkin crazy here in Scotland with pumpkin boy (for the 3rd year), pumpkin muffins, pumpkin painting, roasted pumpkin seeds and more! Canned pumpkin isn't that easy to come by (and doing it yourself is more my style) so we baked our pumpkin and pureed it and made muffins yesterday. Jason roasted the seeds and they were good and salty. I have some more puree in the fridge for pumpkin pancakes tomorrow. Our friends who has us over for Halloween made pumpkin pie that was delicious so that will the next thing we're including in our pumpkin extravaganza!
My friend Sarra posted a great recipe as well. I just didn't have all of the ingredients in the house to try it out. . . but I will soon. And you're right Sarra, pumpkins are underrated!
Here are some photos of our recent happenings-- Halloween piñata and all! Oh, and the yellow ribbon around his neck is another Sorenism. He got the ribbon from a package we received and really enjoyed wearing it. I think it adds to the costume for sure. What do you think?

Soren seems to have been playing out the Frankenstein story with the play dough. "You created me and now you're scared of me!"
Soren is so funny. The play dough thing reminds me of that creepy Mark Twain cartoon, too!

I envy you! I wish I knew how to make my own pumpkin puree. I am all about pumpkin right now too... pumpkin butter, pumpkin bread, pumpkin yogurt, pumpkin pancakes... I love pumpkin! I bet your fav pumpkin was the cute one with the yellow ribbon around his neck. Sooooo cute!
It's easy Paige! Just cut up the pumpkin, bake it and then scoop out the inside to puree it.
I remember getting pumpkin ice cream in Fallbrook one year when I was little. I think it was at Thrifty and it was so tasty.
He is most definatly the cutest pumpkin I've seen. My friend Vanessa is competing in a cupcake competition and the ingredient for this month is squash. She made a recipe for pumpkin cupcakes. I'll send you the link if you're interested.

Pumpkin is awefully good. I have always preferred my Grandma's pronouciation though:"Punkin".
Dante does the same thing (dives into his own little world) it cracks me up and if he catches me watching he gets mad. I also love pumpkin. I try to put it in everything I can. I've always wondered if i could make my own puree but i ruin everything i try make for myself.
